Nigerian National Sentenced To Ten Years With Hard Labour For Attempting To Smuggle Cocaine Into Ghana
Ernest Nnajuiba Ukechukwu, a Nigerian national residing in Brazil, has been sentenced by an Accra High Court to ten years in prison for the possession and attempted smuggling of cocaine into Ghana.
The cocaine, weighing 16568.83 grams, was confiscated at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by officials from the Narcotics Control Commission.
His sentence includes ten years of hard labor and a fine of Ten thousand penalty units. In case of failure to pay the fine, he will serve an additional three (3) years in prison. The sentences will be served concurrently.
