Karaga MP Chairs NPP Reconciliation Committee
The Member of Parliament for Karaga will lead an eight-member regional reconciliation committee constituted by the NPP and tasked with the responsibility of fostering unity and reconciliation within the ruling party.
As part of their duty, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam’s committee will investigate and resolve all matters that have emerged from recent party activities including the just-ended parliamentary primaries which took place in constituencies where the party has sitting lawmakers.
“The leadership of the NPP in consultation with the respective regional executive committees has constituted regional reconciliation committees with the task of fostering unity and reconciliation within the NPP in every constituency of their respective regions,” General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong said in a statement.
With this, the committee has practically been handed a seemingly difficult task of resolving the issues that have emerged from Yendi following last Saturday’s internal polls.
The election was peaceful until the counting of ballots saw the Electoral Commission distanced itself from a declaration made by an Executive of the party indicating incumbent Farouk Aliu Mahama was the winner of that election.
Other Members of the Committee includes Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, MP for Tolon, Hon Habib Iddrisu, MP for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul, regional Minister, Shani Alhassan Shaibu, Regional Secretary, Professor Hudu Zakariah, Former Sagnarigu MCE, Iddrisu Mariam Bugala and Abukari Alhassan
