Vindication of John Mahama on the airbus scandal by OSP will not end now – Lawyer Martin Kpebu

Legal Practitioner, Mr. Martin Kpebu has posited that, the exoneration of former President John Mahama by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on the Airbus bribery scandal will not end now.
According to him, history has shown that such high profile cases don’t die like that but will pop up one day for investigations.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Thursday, August 8, announced the closure of its investigation into the Airbus bribery scandal involving former President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, there is no evidence of corruption or bribery against the former President; though he was identified as ‘Government Official 1’ in the Airbus bribery allegations.
Speaking on Joynews AM Show, Friday, Lawyer Kpebu cited bribery issues where former President Rawlings was accused of taking money from former Nigerian President General Saani Abacha.
President Rawlings was alleged to have taken $2 million as gift from the General Abacha, an allegation he vehemently refuted in 1998 backed by the then NDC administration but later on confesses that indeed General Abacha gifted him $2 million.
“Rawlings was accused of taking money from Abacha but Rawlings came to deny it that he never took it… more than decade later he confess I received the money from Abacha ….so look many stories around the word… big stories like this don’t end like that” Mr. Kpebu said
He further explained that, “so I’m just telling you from my experience you know as we grow we read stories all over the world and also begin to make some repress and then you make a judgment….. Even though the special prosecutor has probes him they will keep crawly as evidence so this is not the end of this matter”.
Another lawyer on the Show, Lawyer Kweku Paintsil totally agreed with his learned colleague but advanced that, so far as the Former President Mahama was identified as ‘Government Official 1’ the case will not die now.
