RTU Introduces Direct Bank Payment System to Resolve Salary Challenges
By Nurudeen Sham-una

Real Tamale United Football Club (RTU) has introduced a new payment structure that allows players and technical staff to receive their salaries directly into their personal bank accounts, a move aimed at promoting transparency, fairness, and accountability in the club’s financial operations.
The initiative comes after several seasons of complaints from players and coaches over delayed and unpaid salaries, which affected morale and performance.
Under the new system, RTU management has already paid two months’ salaries within the past month, signaling a positive shift in the club’s approach to player welfare.
By paying salaries directly into bank accounts, the club eliminates the previous system where intermediaries handled payments, a process that often led to disputes and inconsistencies in who got paid and when.
The direct payment system is expected to ensure all players and staff receive their entitlements promptly and equitably.
Club insiders say the new structure not only fosters trust between management and players but also strengthens internal accountability and financial transparency.
It also reduces the risk of delayed or withheld payments, which plagued the team last season.
