Toilets As Dormitory Saga: Headmaster And Senior Housemaster Of Ghanasco Suspended

Headmaster and Senior Housemaster of Ghana Senior High School in Tamale have been told to step aside for investigations following recent media reports which indicated that some students of the school were made to sleep in lavatories.

The reports have been established as true and the two have now been directed to leave their posts to enable the Regional Education Directorate carry out investigations and report its findings.

The Ghana Education Service which issued the directive said the situation is disturbing and Unfortunate and wondered why students will be made to sleep in such a place when the school in the last admission year took in students less than vacancies declared.

“It is disturbing and unfortunate especially as records available to us indicate that out of the 1790 vacancies declared, only 1467 students have enrolled,” Casandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations Unit Of GES wrote in a statement.
