Sagnarigu Is My Home, Felicia Tettey

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Sagnarigu during election 2020 has urged the people of the constituency to see her as one of them and not as a stranger.

According to Mrs. Felicia Tettey, even though she is not a Dagomba, but the fact that she was born, bred and lived all her life in Sagnarigu means she was an indigine.

“People say Felicia is not a Dagomba, but we are all descendants of Naa Gbewaa. I was born in Sagnarigu, grew up here, schooled here, got married here, my businesses are here, even my late father was buried in Sagnarigu. I have no where else to go. Sagnarigu is my home,” the business woman stated.

The former Northern Regional Cordinator for the Ghana School feeding Programme made this known during a courtesy call on Naa Ambassador Abdulai Yakubu, Paramount Chief of the area.

Mrs. Tettey who has already picked nomination forms to contest her party’s parliamentary primaries in the constituency used her visit to announce to the traditional ruler and his elders of the commencement of of work on some development projects which include an Astroturf football pitch and an ultramodern Community Center.

“When Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia came to Hilaliya school park in 2020, he made a promise that if I was voted to serve as Member of Parliament, the Hilaliya school park was going to be constructed to a modern Astro turf. Though I didn’t win, he said he will still fulfill the promise and by the grace of God, he has approved for the construction of the facility,” she stated.

She added that despite not winning in the last polls, she was still with the people, attending to their affairs and instituting initiatives to empower them economically.

I have not abandoned the constituency and the people of Sagnarigu after the 2020 elections. I have continued to offer my support to women groups and the youth.

During passing out ceremonies, I provide tailors and hairdressing machines as well as tools to young women to aid them start operating their own shops in order to improve their livelihoods. I have also constructed several mechanized boreholes for some of the communities,” she stated.

Madam Felicia also paid similar courtesy calls on the Sagnarigu Zongo Chief and other Sub-Chiefs within the Sagnarigu traditional area, accompanied by the NPP Regional Organizer, Alhaji Rashid COP, and other constituency executives.
