Tampuli Leads Transport Ministry’s Delegation on Study Tour to Rwanda
The Deputy Minister of Transport of Ghana, Hon. Hassan Tampuli, led a team from Ghana’s Ministry of Transport to Rwanda for a study tour on the adoption of electric mobility solutions.
Hon. Minister, Dr. Ernest Nsabimana, welcomed the team to the Rwandan Ministry of Infrastructure, where they discussed Rwanda’s National Transport Policy as well as their experiences developing and running a network of electric vehicles and charging stations.
The delegates discussed Rwanda’s policies and strategies for ensuring the protection and conservation of the environment during their visit to the Rwandan Ministry of Environment.
The delegation from the Ministry of Transport wrapped up their study trip on the use of electric mobility solutions in Rwanda on July 20, 2023.
The tour included a meeting with REM Ltd MD Donald Kabanda, who provided an overview of the company’s progress in creating and running an electric motorcycle transportation network in Rwanda.
They had a similar conversation with Ampersand CEO Josh Whale.
They also paid Serge Kamuhinda, CEO of VW Rwanda, a courtesy call. They mainly talked about Volkswagen’s activities and its function in supplying e-mobility options in Rwanda.
Delegates also spoke with Patrick Emile BAGANIZI, Director General of Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA Ag), about the mechanisms for regulating the transport sector.
They also saw how Rwanda uses ecotourism to preserve urban wetland ecosystems and restore biodiversity at Nyandungu Eco-Park.
