Bawumia Reiterate Anti LGBTQ+ Stance
Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, has reaffirmed his position against LGBTQ+ activities, saying the practice is incompatible with the culture and religious belief of the Ghanaian people
At a meeting with Islamic Scholars in Tamale as part of a campaign tour of the Northern Region earlier today, Dr. Bawumia stated unequivocally that, if elected as President in the upcoming December polls, he would not compromise on opposing same-sex relationships.
He emphasized that regardless of any repercussions, he stands firm in his conviction against such practices.
This declaration marks the second occasion within a short span where Dr. Bawumia has publicly voiced his anti-LGBTQ+ stance. Previously, during the Eidul Fitr celebrations in Kumasi, he made similar remarks denouncing same-sex relationships in front of thousands of muslim congregants.
