Female Referee Battles For Her Life At Hospital Following Assault By Male Coach

A female referee is currently battling for her life at the hospital after she was attacked and beaten to pulp by male coach during a division one match involving Tiyumba ladies and Soccer Missionary Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

Mohammed Nasara Sakina whose condition is thought to be critical is currently on admission at the Tamale Technical University hospital where she is being treated for her injuries sustained during the brutal attack Coach Iddrisu Suweidu, known otherwise as Kubli.

Eye witnesses say the official called a free kick against Tiyumba Ladies that incensed the coach and despites effort to stop him, he entered the pitch to punch and to kick the center woman in all places including the groin.

The attack was unwarranted as Suweidu’s team was leading in the game by a goal and also the decision by the referee was the right call according to football rules.

His assault meant the game ended in the first half as referee Nasara became incapacitated and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency medical attention.

Meanwhile, the police have also launched a manhunt for Coach Iddrisu Suweidu who has since gone into hiding.
