Chief Of Savelugu Donates 300 Dual Desks To Duko Basic School

The Chief of Savelugu has donated over 300 dual desks to the Duko Anglican Basic School of the Duko Community in the Savelugu Municipality.
The dual desks which cost some Ghc 70,000, were handed over on Wednesday[November 29] to the Savelugu office of the Ghana Education Service for onward dispatchment to the beneficiary school.

Nyeb Yoo Naa Yakubu Abdulai, following a surprise visit to the school earlier this year, noticed a greater number of students were studying on the bare floor, a situation he found very disturbing. His intervention therefore was to address the situation of lack of furniture at the school.
Speaking during a short ceremony on Wednesday[November 29] to handover the furniture, Yoo Naa expressed hope his gesture will go a long way to improve teaching and learning.
He also expressed the need for the citizens to support, no matter how small, in addressing some of the challenges confronting the country.

The former regent of Dagbang said the government due to the lack of resources was overwhelmed by the development needs of the country, hence the need for everybody to support.
Officials of the Ghana Education Service as well as the headmistress of the Duko Anglican School, who were on hand to receive the desks, expressed gratitude to the Chief for his intervention.
