Tamale Central MP Monitors Ongoing Voter Registration Exercise by Electoral Commission
The Member of Parliament for Tamale central, earlier today, visited the Tamale Metro office of the Electoral Commission to monitor the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The exercise by the Electoral Commission aims to update the electoral roll ahead of the upcoming national elections and Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed’s visit was aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
During his visit, the lawmaker interacted with officials of the Electoral Commission and potential voters, gathering insights into the registration process and addressing any concerns.
He underscored the necessity of a seamless and fair registration exercise to reinforce public confidence in the electoral system.
“I am here to ensure that every eligible voter in Tamale Central has the opportunity to register without any hindrances,” he asserted, emphasizing the role of the exercise in the democratic process.
The visit also brought to light some operational challenges faced by the EC staff, such as technical and network glitches and the need for additional resources to handle the high turnout.
Hon. Murtala Mohammed promised to work with relevant authorities to resolve these issues promptly.
