Prince Siita to Represent Young Entrepreneurs at International Trade Event in Bahamas
Prince Siita Sofo Hissan, President of the AfCFTA Young Entrepreneurs Federation (AfYEF), is set to participate in the Annual General Meeting of the African Import and Export Bank and the 3rd Africa and Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum. The high-profile event will take place in the Bahamas from June 12 to June 15, 2024.
The forum, which will gather influential figures from the global import and export sector, aims to review the AfrEXIM bank’s performance over the past year and discuss its future prospects. Themed “Owning Our Destiny: Economic Prosperity on the Platform of Global Africa,” the event will also focus on fostering trade, economic growth and self-determination for African and Caribbean nations within the global marketplace.
The Event shall be addressed by distinguished personalities including, Former President of Niger and Leader of AfCFTA, H. E. Mahamadou Issoufou, Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, General Secretary of AFCFTA, H. E Wamkele Mene and the Bahamas Minister for Economic Affairs, Hon. Michael Brian Halkitis.
Prince Siita, a media mogul, expressed his enthusiasm about participating in the event, emphasising the significance of bringing the perspectives of young entrepreneurs to the forefront of discussions with African policymakers. “It is a privilege to be part of this event and to share the voices of young entrepreneurs with African decision-makers,” he said.
He is particularly looking forward to side discussion which will be centered on leveraging the sport and entertainment ecosystem to boost trade and job growth. Prince Siita described the forum as a promising opportunity for young people, highlighting the importance of addressing the unique challenges they face in the trade sector across Africa.
