Following his overwhelming endorsement by the National Executive Council of the NPP, Chosen running mate, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has emphasized his unwavering commitment to support Dr. Bawumia in achieving the party’s visionary agenda aimed at propelling Ghana to greater heights.

In a statement, the Energy Minister, described his nomination to partner Dr. Bawumia as an honour and added that he was duty-bound to support the Vice President to attain the mantle of political leadership in order to take the country to the next level.

Dr. Prempeh who is also MP for Manhyia South expressed deep gratitude and humility, acknowledging the nomination as a divine call to higher service.

“I am deeply honoured today as the chosen running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). I am humbled to be nominated by our distinguished flagbearer, H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and endorsed unanimously by the National Council in accordance with the provisions of the NPP Constitution,” he stated.

He called on all party members to unite in their efforts to transform Ghana into a prosperous nation, highlighting the significance of his selection among the party’s numerous astute personalities.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Prempeh thanked the National Council, the rank-and-file of the NPP, and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for their unwavering support and confidence in his capabilities. He also acknowledged the preparation and experience gained from his previous roles in two respected cabinet positions, which have readied him for this crucial responsibility.

“I understand that the task ahead requires our collective effort, and I, therefore, plead with every party member to come on board as we seek the mandate of our countrymen and women once again to serve them,” Dr. Prempeh urged.

With a focus on breaking the 8-year election cycle, Dr. Prempeh pledged to work diligently alongside Dr. Bawumia to lead a formidable campaign for the 2024 elections. His commitment to service and leadership remains unwavering as he strives towards a brighter future for Ghana.
