Finance Minister Facilitates Skills Training for 651 Women in Karaga Constituency

The graduation ceremony held on Saturday[September 28] and witnessed by Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, marked the culmination of weeks of training in various vocational skills, including soap making, bead making, sandal crafting, and cosmetics production.

Each trainee was presented with a certificate of completion, a starter pack, and seed money to establish their own businesses, furthering their prospects of financial independence and job creation within the constituency.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam emphasized the importance of equipping the youth with practical skills to alleviate unemployment and poverty. “This is just the beginning. As a community, we need to continue creating opportunities that enable sustainable livelihoods,” he stated.

To build on this initiative, construction of the Karaga Skills Center is already underway. The center will serve as a permanent facility to train more youth in various trades, ensuring the long-term sustainability of job creation in the constituency.

While in Karaga, the Finance Minister also took time to honour his annual ritual of spending time with widows in the Constituency. As part of the event, he provided 2000 women with essential supplies as a form of support and recognition of their hard work and dedication despite their personal challenges.Later in the day, the MP inspected ongoing work on the Agenda 111 Hospital project in Karaga, which is part of the government’s nationwide initiative to enhance healthcare infrastructure across the country. The hospital, when completed, is expected to provide critical healthcare services to the residents of Karaga and surrounding communities.
