Former Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has handed over a newly constructed 300-bed dormitory facility to the Ambariyya Islamic School in Tamale to support Islamic education in the region.
The intervention fulfills a request from the leadership of the Ambariyya Islamic Institute to address accommodation challenges faced by students from communities outside Tamale and by foreign students, particularly those from the West African sub-region who are at the Institute to pursue Islamic education.

Speaking on behalf of the MP during a brief ceremony to hand over the facility, Abdul Halim Tikuma, his personal aide, said the project was constructed by Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam and driven by his long-standing commitment to expanding access to education, both secular and Arabic.
He called on the Ambariyya Islamic community to continue praying for the MP, stressing that the project is only the beginning of further support to the Institute.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Awal Issah, who spoke on behalf of the Ambarriya leadership, commended Dr. Amin Adam for the timely intervention, noting that the hostel facility would significantly enhance teaching and learning by providing students from distant places with a comfortable and secure place to stay. He described the gesture as a significant boost to the promotion of Islamic education.

The hostel facility is equipped with auxiliary amenities, including washrooms, a sick bay, a conference room, and a waiting area for visiting parents, all designed to improve students’ overall welfare.
The Ambariyya Islamic School is a renowned center of Islamic learning in Northern Ghana, attracting students from across the country and the wider West African sub-region.
