Gifted Tima Academy Graduates First Cohort in Tamale

Gifted Tima Academy, a mentoring and private tuition institution in Tamale has graduated its first cohort of students after six months of intensive training.
The students, drawn from various kindergartens and basic schools across Tamale, underwent training in mentorship, public speaking, poetry, career guidance, arts, and financial literacy. The graduation ceremony was under the theme, “Setting the Stage for Greatness.”
Speaking at the event, Founder of the academy, Mrs. Fatima Abdul Majeed, said the initiative was established to provide guidance and opportunities she lacked while growing up. She noted that her journey as a spoken word artist was challenging due to the absence of mentorship, which inspired her to create a platform to support and nurture young talents.
“I wanted to be for these children what they did not have for themselves,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of mentorship in shaping children into responsible adults.
Mrs. Fatima also expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for entrusting their wards to the academy, and commended her staff for their dedication and commitment to the programme’s success.
She further disclosed that preparations are underway for the second cohort, urging parents to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling their children.
As part of the ceremony, the graduating students showcased skills acquired during the training. Performances included poetry recitals, spoken word presentations, and demonstrations of financial literacy knowledge before an audience of parents, guardians, and invited guests. Participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their efforts.
Some parents expressed satisfaction with the progress of their children, but also called on the academy’s management to address challenges encountered during the first cohort to improve future programmes.
