NPP Mourns Again As Former Regional Women Organiser Passes
A former Northern Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region has died following a short sickness.
Hajia Amama Ssyibu died at Habana Medical Center in Tamale where she was on admission for treatment of an undisclosed sickness.
Her body has since been deposited at the morgue of the Tamale Teaching Hospital with burial scheduled for tomorrow[Wednesday, April 12] at the Zujung Cemetery in Tamale.
Announcing her untimely demise, the party described Hajia Amama Sayibu as a patriot who dedicated her life in service to the NPP.
“Hajia was an extraordinary and commited patriot who was dedicated to the services of the party at the constituency, Regional and the National level,” current women organiser, Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz wrote in a statement.
The late Hajia Amama Sayibu in her life served as Northern Regional Women’s Organiser from 2009 to 2016. Prior to the 2020 election, she contested the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in the Tolon Constituency and lost alongside others to Alhaji Habib Iddrisu who eventually retained the constituency for the party.
She was tipped as favourite to become Mayor for the Tamale Metropolis but was trampled at the last minute to the position by Hon. Sule Salifu.
