Mohammed Naporo Abubakari, popularly known as DJ Parara, has picked number five on the ballot for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Youth Organiser election after successfully undergoing the party’s vetting process.
The Chief Executive Officer of Majority Radio was on Monday vetted alongside four other aspirants by the party’s regional leadership before the official balloting. At the end of the exercise, DJ Parara drew the fifth and final position on the ballot.
Speaking to journalists after the exercise, the media executive-turned-politician described his ballot position as a positive omen, expressing confidence that it symbolises victory in the forthcoming regional delegates’ conference.
According to him, occupying the last position on the ballot signifies that he will carry all the other contenders, which he believes is a clear indication that he will emerge victorious in the election.
DJ Parara reiterated his vision of building a vibrant, united and forward-looking youth front capable of reconnecting the party with young people across the Northern Region.
He pledged to champion effective grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment, political education and employment opportunities while strengthening the party’s structures from the polling station to the regional level.
